FAQ
-
TCVM stands for Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine. It is a veterinary approach that looks at the whole animal, including their individual symptoms, constitution, lifestyle and underlying patterns of imbalance. Treatment may include acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, food therapy and Tui Na, with each treatment plan tailored to the individual animal.
-
Our primary focus is dogs and cats, although we have also treated a variety of other animals including chickens, ducks, goats and reptiles. If you have another type of animal, please contact us to discuss whether we can help.
-
You can book an appointment directly through our online booking system or call the KIBO Holistic Vet Team on 07 5471 0181. If we’re unable to answer straight away, please leave us a message and our team will get back to you as soon as possible.
-
Your initial consultation will usually take approximately 40–60 minutes. This allows us time to complete a thorough TCVM assessment, discuss your fluffy’s health history and concerns, and identify their individual TCVM pattern so we can develop an appropriate treatment plan.
-
The initial consultation is $345 and includes a comprehensive TCVM assessment and diagnosis, with acupuncture, food therapy and Tui Na included where appropriate. Chinese herbal medicine, if prescribed, is an additional cost.
-
If you have any recent veterinary records, blood test results, imaging reports or a current medication and supplement list, please bring them with you or send them to us before your appointment.
You’re also welcome to bring your fluffy’s favourite treats to help them feel comfortable during their visit.
-
The cost of follow-up appointments will depend on your fluffy’s individual treatment plan and the therapies required. We will discuss the recommended treatment plan and associated costs with you following the initial consultation.

Yes. We have convenient on-site parking available for our clients at our Eumundi clinic.
-
Most animals tolerate acupuncture very well, and many become noticeably relaxed during their treatment. Some even fall asleep!
We take a gentle approach and allow each fluffy time to settle and feel comfortable. Every animal is different, so treatment is always adapted to their individual temperament and needs.
-
TCVM can be used to support a wide range of health conditions, including arthritis and mobility problems, skin conditions, digestive issues, anxiety, chronic health conditions and age-related changes.
We also support animals with more complex conditions, including cancer, often alongside conventional veterinary care.
Every fluffy is different, so treatment is tailored to the individual animal, their symptoms and their underlying TCVM pattern.
-
Every animal responds differently. Some fluffies may show changes quite quickly, while others—particularly those with chronic or long-standing conditions—may take more time.
TCVM treatment is individualised, and we monitor your fluffy’s response over time so their treatment plan can be adjusted when needed.

-
No. Please do not stop or change any medication prescribed by your veterinarian unless advised to do so by a veterinarian. We take your fluffy’s current medications and treatments into consideration when developing their individual TCVM treatment plan.
-
No, you don’t need a referral to book an appointment with KIBO. However, if your fluffy has been receiving treatment elsewhere, previous veterinary records, blood results and imaging can be very helpful for us to review.
